Admissions

    Admission to Knapp Haven begins with an "Application for Residents in Knapp Haven", a form pertaining to the necessary information about the applicant.  The criteria for activating and application is based on the date of the application, the need of the applicant and servies needed as it relates to a skilled nursing home and the needs of the family involved.  Knapp Haven will not exclude from admission any applicant for reason of race, creed, color, sex, religion, or sexual preference.

    A resident can be admitted to Knapp Haven Nursing Home ONLY upon the orders of a physician and certification by the physcian the patient is free from communicable diseases.

     An admission agreement is explained and signed on or before admission.  This agreement delineates a list of services provided, related charges, and pertinent facility policies.  Payment for care covers room, board, linen service, nursing care, maintenance activites, dietary, and social services.  Room charges are billed for a month in advance with charges for supplies and other services charged after incurrence.

    Knapp Haven is both Medicare and Medicaid certified.
